BLOG TOUR and *RRBB REVIEW*: Pretty Remedy by S.E. Hall

Title: Pretty Remedy
Series: Finally Found #2
Author: S.E. Hall
Genre: NA Romance
Release Date: April 23, 2015

Envy is a silent, cold-blooded killer, extinguishing a little more life from me every day.

Hitting sharp, fast and seemingly out of nowhere; struck by lightning not a storm cloud in sight... in she rolls. Reece Madison, a force to be reckoned with, head of the class- which means one thing- she's out of mine.

"You're wasting your time Rhett Foster. Locks have keys and walls can be climbed. I'm not buying your cold, skeptical act for one minute."

And then there's that...

But as much as she compels me to open up, show her what no one else gets to see…there’s guilty shadows lurking in the depths of her eyes that she cannot hide.

It always happens the same way, every time. The second I finish coming, the blip of exhilaration dissipates, and I’m left feeling vapid and angry. I turn my back on my latest conquest and, blocking out the images of insincere, physical satiation, I scurry off like a criminal. Maybe I should quit fucking them.

Or maybe I shouldn’t. The tête-à-têtes, and unrequited clinginess as much their fault as my own—more in fact, if everyone’s being honest with themselves. I tell them, straight up, in plain English, no “code” or sidestepping what I’m really saying, that it’s one fuck. I offer absolutely nothing more, and they accept. But women have a specific order and purpose to everything they do. It shouldn’t eat at me when another woman discovers her plan didn’t work, and surprise, she isn’t the one “different” enough to change me.

You want to be the lady worthy of a call the next day, flowers, a ring? Then don’t ride the dick until you get at least one of them. And if you do jump on—gyrating and grinding in what you’re just certain is some mystical, “He’s never had it so good before” kind of way, and it doesn’t work—don’t blame anyone but yourself. Who was really trying to manipulate who?

4.5 Stars
The story of Rhett and Reece (aka Teaspoon).
Rhett is helping a friend out, working as a bouncer at a club.  Drummer/musician by trade, we met him in the previous book - Pretty Instinct.
Reece is an inspiring musician, but out with her friend when she meets Rhett at the door as she's carded to get into the club.
At first, Rhett and his a-hole antics really pushed my buttons.  He was an out-of-control manwhore, and I truly despised him.
But, as is usually the case, he had his reasons for being like he was.
Reece was hilarious, and there were a number of times that I laughed hysterically - mostly at her thoughts.  Some of her past musings on dealing with her friend Landry, were the height of comedy!  Crude, yet the funniest thing I've read in a LONG time!
I did not like Landry, at all.  She's that kind of friend that is a huge mess and never there for Reece.
Jarrett - Rhett's brother (also met in Pretty Instinct), is also quite the man-whore.  I really thought his story would be next, but it seems as though it is not.  Should be an interesting next book, especially if it involves the lady from the end…
The story is told in alternating first person perspectives of Reece and Rhett.
I enjoyed the Ozzie character a lot, and was glad that Reece had someone to count on.
Overall, a great story!

5 Stars!

The story of Cannon and Lizzie (aka Elisabeth, Liz, Sister, etc.).
This story is told in first person perspective - mostly by Lizzie, but occasionally from Cannon (probably 3-4 chapters at most).
Lizzie is a singer in a band, traveling around on a bus she owns (by trust fund).  When the story begins, we find out her brother, Conner, has some sort of condition that leaves him mentally handicapped.  The current bassist (a woman), calls Conner a few choice names when he good-naturedly tries to wake her, and Lizzie has that woman out of the bus and out of the band come the next stop on the road.
As luck would have it, Cannon has been left at the same road stop by a (now former) fiancée, with a guitar strapped to his back.  Why not see if all signs point to the hottie being their next band member?
The story is long - longer than it needs to be, but I still loved the story the author weaved.  Conner is one of the best brothers one could ask for.  The other band members, Rhett and Jarrett  (Rhett on drums, and Jarrett alternates from guitar to bass), are Lizzie and Conner's best friends since childhood.
Some of the bits are hilariously funny, and some heartbreaking.  This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions - of the good kind.
If Cannon comes in order form, sign me up!  My latest book-boyfriend is HOT, sweet, loyal, and did I mention HOT?
I have already begun on the next story (about Rhett), and can't wait to see where it leads me!
